Day 13 M
Get a lem sip
Quick
Man size tissues
Sucky sweets
Plump his pillows
Change his sheets
No time to waste
To the chemist
Post haste
But first;
Make some tea
Put on the tv,
Choccie biccies
On a plate
Cos he can’t wait
With croaking voice
He’s got no choice
But to struggle to the settee
”A sandwich would be nice love
With another cup of tea.”
He coughs
Blows his nose
Gives a weary sigh
”I think I’m going to die”.
Sooner than you think
”I’ll just make you a hot drink;
How about some soup?”
Before I go loop the feckin’ loop
”That would be nice,and
Pass the remote control”
Ask me hole
How much more can I endure
Some say ;
There is no cure
This snot fest has taken
Many in their prime
But I am strong
I will not succumb
I will nurse this man of mine
Until he can venture
From the sofa
Up to bed
But if he does not
Go back to work soon;
He will be well and truly dead …
I want ALL these poems in a lickle book to carry around in my handbag to cheer me up on a rainy day! 🙂
