New York New York

N (1)

New York, New York

So good they named it twice

I wouldn’t know, I’ve never been

I’ve heard it’s very nice

I long to walk through Central park

Down  57th Street

Stopping off at a deli

For something good to eat

I’d have canollis or some tater tots

A burrito or an empanada

I could always try pastrami on rye

Or a chicken enchilada

I’ve never eaten any of these

I haven’t a clue what some of them are

They are all as foreign to me

As Beluga caviar

I’ll ¬†visit the Statue of Liberty

Climb to the top of the Empire State

I’ll drive across the Brooklyn Bridge

Now wouldn’t that be great

At night I’ll head down to Times Square

To see the lights and Broadway shows

After a day of shopping for

Designer shoes and clothes

New York is a place I long to go to

It’s been on my bucket list for many years

Maybe when I finally get there

I’ll meet you in the village for some beers

In my dreams I’m flying to America

I hope to see you there some day

When I cross the sea from Ireland

And watch the sun go down on New York bay

Fine things to do if you ever visit NYC. It’s a grand place. So much to do and often times free things too.
