2015, not a great year

It's the end of the year and how are you
Did you do all the things you wanted to do?
Spend lots of time with family and friends
Forget old arguments, make amends
Live the life you said you would
On January first, when all was good.
Keep resolutions you made that day
Said all the things you wanted to say
Be good and kind, give to the poor
Stop calling your neighbour a dirty old hoor
She also has bills to pay
She can only do it that way
Jobs are scarce, she does what she can
Sure fair play to the poor old postman
He only ever rings her bell twice
And the woman next door is not quite as nice
She hasn't to work as hard as you
To lose the weight that you promised to do
Did you keep your resolution
Staying in bed is no solution
You've got to start this year off good
Doing the things you said you would
Go on a diet, lose all that flab
Pay the barman, clear your tab?
Look for a job, get off the dole
Stop sitting on your lazy hole?
Did you really think it would take only a year
Until all your debts were clear
You may as well dream here as in bed
Or wish you'd emigrated instead
There's just one more day left to this year
So sing 'aul Lang Syne and shed a tear
For all the things you wanted to do
For family and friends who bid adieu
For those who fought so hard to live
They still had so much more to give
But 2015 was their time to leave
It was others time to grieve
It's been a sad one, there's no doubt
For many it's been a washout
So many storms we have to thank
Patricia,Abigail Desmond and Frank
Lets say goodbye to twenty fifteen
Not the best year that we've seen
We can only hope for better next year
Filled with more laughter, less sadness and tears
As this year comes to an end
I wish Happy New Year to my family and friends
Say hello to twenty sixteen
Let's make it the best that's ever been 🙂
