Neighbourhood watch

Hedges with knife edges

Flowers all in a row

Standing to attention

Afraid to bow

In the breeze that blows through the trees

Scattering leaves to the ground

With not a sound

The humming sound of the leaf blower

Sucking up errant leaves, that

Dared to fall on the pristine lawn

When a dandelion appears

Snip snip, goes his shears

Daisies bloom for half a day

Before being clipped away

The early evening mist appears

From the weed killing spray

It shows no mercy at the end of the day

A pain in the ass for his scutch grass

Night time slugs only come out

When he is not about

To feast on his lonely begonias.
