It’s all about you

I

Forget tomorrow, forget yesterday

It’s time to focus on today

Live for the moment, live for you

Forget all the things that you have to do

The breakfast dishes are going nowhere

When you get home, they’ll still be there

Forget the washing you hung on the line

Before it began raining, when the weather was fine

Forget unmade beds and unhoovered stairs

You’re the only one who cares

Your Fairy Godmother might never call

To do your housework while you go to the ball

Today is no different, there’s no wand to wave magic

To make your house clean and your life feel less tragic

So let today be all about you

Not all of the things that you didn’t do

Now close your eyes, take a deep breath

Prepare for a day that you’ll never forget

A day of doing what YOU want do do

And not the things you’re expected to

A day without worry, without trouble and strife

The very first day of  of the rest of your life.

It's all about you

  1. Great ideas for how I should be spending my day. Hello from A to Z.

  2. Freya says:

Loved it Trish. It made me smile. So needed this.
Can I print this out and put it up on my wall? 🙂
